It’s really happening! As a result of a long-standing partnership between Jazz Juniors and the renowned Nisville Jazz Festival in Serbia, this year brings the largest-ever representation of Jazz Juniors artists at this prestigious event!

For the first time, six bands – winners and artists recommended by Jazz Juniors – will take the main stages and side programs in the city of Niš, presenting a thrilling mosaic of the young European jazz scene. This year’s lineup includes musicians from Poland, Germany, Ukraine, Belarus, Portugal, and Norway, proving that Jazz Juniors is truly an international powerhouse for emerging jazz talent.

  • Featured artists include:
  • Alvaro Coreira Pinto Quintet from Portugal – the bandleader was the recipient of the Janusz Muniak Special Prize at the Jazz Juniors Competition in 2023. The quintet will perform at Nisville Jazz Festival on August 14, and additionally at the Krakra Festival in Pernik (Bulgaria) on August 15.
  • Vincent Meissner Trio from Germany – 2nd Prize winner of the Jazz Juniors Competition in 2024 – will perform on August 15.
  • Reboot the Mood from Germany – finalists of the 2024 Jazz Juniors Competition – will take the stage at Nisville on August 15, and the next day at Krakra Festival in Bulgaria.
  • Cyryl Lewczuk Quartet, featuring musicians from Poland and Belarus – finalists of the 2024 Jazz Juniors Competition – will perform twice on August 16, first on the main stage at Nisville, then at the Museum Stage.
  • Light Star Guiding, a Polish-British group led by Mikołaj Poncyliusz – will perform at Nisville on August 17.
  • Kravchenko-Clees, an Ukrainian-Luxembourgish duo, Grand Prix winners of Jazz Juniors Competition 2023 – will perform on August 13 as part of the Nisville Jazz Theater program, and again on August 14 at the Museum Stage.

That’s a total of 10 concerts and 6 outstanding musical projects. But wait – there’s more! We are thrilled to announce that Nils Petter Molvær, the new Artistic Director of Jazz Juniors and one of the most influential voices in contemporary jazz, will also be appearing at Nisville Jazz Festival 2025 – further highlighting the strength and importance of this partnership.

This Jazz Juniors landing is not just a concert series – it’s a bold signal that the young jazz scenes of Eastern and Western Europe can work together, build bridges, and create truly extraordinary events. Don’t miss it – Nisville 2025 will be hotter than ever!

The collaboration with the Nisville Jazz Festival was made possible thanks to the support of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
